About us
APBS was founded in 1999 by Tony Davitt and Colin Allum as a building and maintenance contractor. Following Colin’s retirement, Tony became sole owner and continues to lead the business as Managing Director. The company has since grown into three divisions, Build & Maintenance, Scaffolding and Electrical, all managed from our office near Aylesbury.
Our clients tend to stay with us. We have worked with Fairhive Homes for more than 25 years, we are in contract with Buckinghamshire Council, and our scaffolders have built long running relationships with housebuilders and main contractors on everything from timber frame housing to listed college buildings in Oxford.
Having our own trades, scaffold crews and electricians means one call covers the whole job, and the people who price the work are the people who deliver it.

APBS Scaffolding has been appointed to EEM’s Scaffolding Services Framework (EEM0051) on both Lot 1, Midlands coverage, and Lot 2, national coverage. The four year framework opens our scaffolding services to EEM’s public sector members, including councils, housing providers, schools and NHS organisations, well beyond our home counties.
In contract with Buckinghamshire Council
We carry out repairs and void works for Buckinghamshire Council, turning properties around to a lettable standard to the council’s specification and timescales.
Over the last 7 years, we’ve had nothing but excellent service from APBS. The team has provided us with everything from simple access scaffolding to complex temporary roofs, working seamlessly around tricky existing buildings.
How we run our jobs
Every job we take on is logged, scheduled and tracked in Premier Planner, our job management system. The office plans the work, our operatives get their jobs on their phones, and photos and completion notes come back with the job.
